This initiative consists of collecting books donated by people and carrying them to create libraries at frontier schools located in the four cardinal points of the country.
With the purpose of meeting this goal, Rubén Sosa, began to develop a series of solidarity actions to help the frontier schools create their own libraries.
- He organizes kiteflying events on an annual basis, where he summons patients and their families. ”Every year we meet to fly kites at the square in front of Garraham Children Hospital; the only requirement for participating is to bring a book.”
- He administrates the donations via his personal contacts, his Internet site, and mass media coverage: “....I’m just requesting you spare books, those you will never read again, those novels, that textbook, dictionary, encyclopedia, which can change the life of a child wearing a white and worn-out smock.
The following actions have already been fulfilled:
- Misión La Paz, at the North, has already received 10 thousand books.
- Los Antiguos, at the South, 17 thousand books.
- Calingasta, at the West, 25 thousand.
The last cardinal point missing in this solidarity action is the East, where the schools in Villa Paranacito are located.

Dr. Rubén Sosa is a pediatrician who works at Pedro de Elizalde Children Hospital (ex Casa Cuna), in Buenos Aires City. He has conducted several campaigns and activities, teaching and promoting health. Rubén organized kite building workshops for his patients and their parents; later on, he did the same with grandparents at geriatric institutions. In all the meetings, subjects such as organ donation, the public health system defense, HIV, nicotine poisoning, and drug addiction prevention, are widely spread.
